Hi Badboy,

You have made a good point .This would apply to all those JW's who have spent all their lives condemming " this system of things" and have not provided means of support for themselves and now find themselves surprise, surprise ,with out the New World to shelter them.So who are all those JW's going to call ,Social Security of course. They will assist them into a Jah Jirah home by paying their costs.

The money provided by the state has obviously come from the hard working tax payer so the very people they have condemmed to death and destruction are now supporting them.There's irony for you.

It's a good a thing that everybody in the country hasn't been a Witless or where would we all be now? It's a good thing too that if we were all Witlesses and we all needed a blood transfusion we would all be dead, the country would be empty. Bringing the argument to it's ultimate conclusion illustrates the futility of their barmy reasoning

Obviously there are many, many people in the U.K. who need support at times also in their old age but at least they haven't gone around telling the rest of us that we are doomed.

Hi Mouthy,

I am not a catholic sometimes I'm not anything .At this present time it depends on my mood but I'm definately not a JW. I haven't had the the horrible experiences that you have had to endure but I can sympathise with you and understand where you are coming from.

You know I am sure that there are people in this world who have been lifted up to walk on mountains through help from the catholic church and maybe if you had been in a different place at a different time you might just hold opposite views .Obviously all of us can only relate to the events that we have seen for ourselves and there is no way I can blame you for thinking as you do, and I would not even consider doing so.

I have known what I would call good catholics and bad catholics.As the saying goes, by their fruits you will know them.I have been to three catholic funeral services' for relatives and at one of them I did not like the comments from the priest the others services I thought were brilliant.The bottom line is how much love to their fellow man does a person show ,that is what really counts.

There is a man called Lord Charles Brocket he wrote a book about his life called " call me charlie" He is a member of the British aristocracy and he was sent to prison for attempting an insurance scam which he did not go through with, never the less they hammered him with a lenghty sentence to set an example.He had served as an officer in the British Army in Northern Ireland and Cyprus.Cutting a long story short while he was in prison he went to the catholic priest for advice not because he was catholic but because he found that catholic priests were the most effective in dealing with problems while he was in the army .The priest gave him some sound advice.So there we see another side of the coin as it were. The book by the way is a damn good read.

this is a fantastic site with some really cool people (i feel like i know some of you already).

circumstances forced me to start my fade about 10 years ago, and pretty much start my life from scratch (socially, at least - family have always been great).

Welcome,I was in Yorkshire this summer for a week at a place called Sherrif Hutton which was a really nice rural retreat.When ever I approach York from Harrogate I always seem to get held up at a massive roundabout which leads off to Scarborough,York and the East Coast it usually takes at least an hour to get passed it due to accidents.

Love the shops in York which says a lot because I don't really like shopping.Didn't like the smell in the Yorvik Centre in fact one lady who had just come out of there when we did had to be revived.Went to Eden Camp which was really interesting went to Scarborough but couldn't find a decent place to park and it was double busy.

Hope you can share some of your experiences with us and that you make a lot of friends here ,this is the place to be.

Christmas...pagan? or non-pagan?

i just read a thread where one of the posters was saying christmas is not pagan.

from my research and what i remember reading up on it, it was taken from the pagans.. let me explain.

first, i apologize because i researched this about 4 years ago and i don't have all of my research material at hand.

In the history of the Witlesses which came first the banning of Christmas or banning of birthdays? If it was birthdays it follows that Rutherford would have to put a ban on christmas.It would be interesting to find a different angle to his motives.

As for celebrating the birthday of Jesus I think that if on Dec.25 I bowed down three times to the sun that would be pagan but if I pin up a few streamers, bells, and bows and went to our local church and sang a few hymns ,said a few prayers to Jesus and was pleased that he came into the world to set a good example to all the evil doers that would not be pagan.It all depends on motive.On 25 Dec.if I worship in a church that is built on a temple site that was used to worship the sun I rejoice that good as overcome ignorance.

I know of a Kingdumb Hall that used to be a brewery and supplied beer to all the local alcoholics ( they supplied beer to the rest of us as well) so does that make it an evil place to visit.The answer is obviously no the K.H is an evil place to visit because of the stupid information that is taught therein.

A celebration of a birth ?, for some twisted reasoning the Witlesses think that death is to be acknowledged i.e.funeral at the hall but they can't bring themselves to have a formal happy gathering to acknowledge a babys birth.How barmy is that? I guess that reflects their humanity.

hello, i just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here - as i will be posting here.. i grew up a jw and pioneered, was a ministerial servant, ect, i was in the organization for 17 years.

i left and naturally my family did as they were told and cut off all communication with me.

this left a horrible taste in my mouth for not just jw's, but any religion for that matter.

MY DAD MIGHT DIE DUE TO THE 'NO BLOOD' DOCTRINE

i don't have much time to post as i'm headed back to the hospital, but my father collapsed this morning and had to be rushed to the hospital.

in a nutshell: he needs a blood transfusion as his hemoglobin is dropping (bleeding internally), but thanks to this fucking cult, that's not an option...........he'll accept the fractions but those bastards from the blood liaison committee have already shown up to ensure he doesn't cave............... for those of you who still believe, i'm asking you to say a prayer for my dad........and if anyone from crooklyn is reading this: you better hope my father doesn't die due to your fucked up rules, .

Good on you kiddo as we say around here .I hope you win the war on ignorance and that your Dad pulls through.

My sister was diabetic from the age of three and her life saver, on several occasions, all through her life were blood transfusions.

When I was a witless and my sister never was I remember thinking many times that there was no way I was going to let my sister die if the decision was mine.I remember thinking to myself when I was in the cult maybe I would refuse blood but I could not allow someone else to die because of it.So I guess I had my doubts all the time in the back of my mind.

Anyway get some rest you will need all your strength in order to think straight and send that blood committee back to the dark ages where they belong.

Thinking about you and your Dad during this crisis.I am sure The Almighty will give you strength.

Try and get those ignorant bastards out of the hospital and away from your Dad so that you can have some sort of control .That Blood Committee needs to be banished from the face of the earth they are in no way as close to your Dad as you are.

My prayers for both of you are winging their way across the Universe.Remember there is a justice higher than mankinds.
